Have you ever wondered what we might eat in the future if we want food that is both nutritious and sustainable for the planet? Microalgae are tiny organisms that grow using sunlight, water, and nutrients. Scientists are increasingly interested in microalgae because they can be used to produce food ingredients such as proteins, healthy oils, and natural pigments. They can even be grown using by-products from the food industry, such as dairy side streams, making them part of circular and resource-efficient food systems.
At our stand, you can explore microalgae through your senses by seeing, smelling, and examining a range of microalgae-based samples. Through this hands-on experience, you will learn how microalgae are grown, why they are considered a promising sustainable food source, and how they could contribute to a greener future.
